Deep Roots

Deep Roots
the roots grow deep
That is where the water flows
There they needed to feed
So the tree forever grows
When you let someone in
Let them drink from the well within
Let them plant themselves in your heart
It is tough when they go not to fall apart
even if the tree no longer stands
The roots still hold your heart in their hands
It takes time to mend, and let new grass grow
Where the tree once stood, so the scar doesn’t show
Not on the surface but the roots still spread
Still a part of your soul, though gone not dead
A new life to begin, let nature cycle once more
Open to love, and what life has in store
Still love is love and it will do as it may
I cant help but wonder when it will be back to stay
