Getting Packed

So I have been getting all of my stuff ready over the weekend. I drove down to Berkeley yesterday morning, and picked up some water proof river rafting bags to use from Aaron's family friend Larry. I also did some running around to REI, Costco, and Performance Bicycle to pick up some things. I needed biker shorts, got some energy gel packs, cliff bars, bug spray, a bivvy thing for sleeping bags, and a few other things. Then I looked at the list of things I was told to bring, got everything together, laid it out on my desk, and made sure I had it all. I got an email from Aaron yesterday, and he made a good suggestions. Make sure all that stuff fits in the bags, cause we only have a limited amount of space. I am very happy to report that I fit everything I am bringing, PLUS both sleeping bags in only two of the bags. The third and final one will hold the tent, and sleeping pads. I cant believe how little I am actually bringing down there. I definitely wont be dressed nice, or expect to be all that stylish during my travels. hahaha.

The excitement of the trip has been getting to me over the last two days. I couldn't fall asleep last night. I have been doing my best to keep any expectations, or excitement at bay because I don't want to think the trip will be any certain way and be let down. At this point though, I think I have come to terms with the complete unexpected nature of the trip, and am fully embracing it. I have no idea what the ride will hold in store. The great part about that statement is that I am excited about that. I love the fact that its unknown. That it will be an adventure. I am sure there will be a time or two (or more) where I am pissed, frustrated, or otherwise unhappy, but you know what...bring it on. I will love it. It will be worth it. i will embrace it.

Don't forget to donate a dollar or two. The link is at the top right of the page. and keep up with Aaron's blog also. http://www.lasthillbeforehome.blogspot.com/
